New Novel-Click image below
Cole Peavey, former Collier County SO Deputy, now a disgraced cop, works too little and drinks too much. And he's on the edge of losing it all--his lover, Mazy, his job, and even his life. Time is running out unless he can stop a killer who's turning everyone Peavey touches into a cadaver. Making Peavey the chief suspect. That's not his only problem in paradise. His primary lead is a Voodoo priestess and what appears to be a zombie. A zombie? But, it's South Florida, where anything can happen and, in Peavey's Paradise, does.
New Book-- Click Image Below To See Inside
This book is an insider's no-holds-barred look at law enforcement in Collier County in the 60's, 70's, and thereabouts. It's a collection of cop war stories, history, and outrageous events that appeared in the blog's 2009 first year, plus additional, expanded stuff. You may not believe it, but everything written here really happened in the dreaded Elephant's Graveyard.

IF YOU SEND ME AN E-MAIL, I 'LL FORWARD YOU THE REPORT IN WORD FORMAT. oldcop007@yahoo.com
My name's G.D.Young. I'm a retired cop, culminating over 40 years of robbing the taxpayers in Southwest Florida. Truth is, didn't really rob them, but when you get paid for doing what you love, it feels like it. Most recently, I retired from the Collier County Sheriff's Office. Before that, I was with the Naples Police Department where, in the 70's I had the misfortune of being the Chief of Police. And during that time, there were damn few days when I felt like I was stealing the money. Family? My wife, Sandy, and I've lived in Florida since the 50's. Our four children and passel of grandchildren live here, too. Enjoy the blog!

Who's Who?
Although the incidents and people depicted in these tales are real, most of the names have been changed to protect the easily embarrassed. Except for cops. Many of their names are genuine. You guess who. Hint: If it sounds bogus it probably is. If it sounds real it probably is.
