CHANGES AT THE NPD IN JUNE OF 1965

Changes at the NPD in June of 1965. Chief Ben Caruthers had moved on to Hillsborough County and the new, acting Chief Sam Bass is shown with Jack Bliss, new Assistant Chief.   Standing are new patrolmen C. H. Dasher, Ken Mulling, Chester Keene, and Barry Kee. Not in photo is another new cop, Bud Wood. As you can see, back then large cops were preferred.
This is when cops wore white shirts in the summer and long-sleeve gray in the winter.
And, the Collier County News was now a daily, all eight pages.
